Liz Dube is our awesome banquet manager here at the Hawthorne Hotel. She is the embodiment of the swan that we all try to be, as we do our work in the hotel business -- sailing serenely on the surface and paddling furiously underneath.
Here is a thank you email that she just received that says it better than I can:

Dear Liz, Thank-you so much for your calm and professional management of the reception. It was flawless. The meal was hot and delicious. The room was decorated beautifully and we so enjoyed the Hawthorne in all it's splendor. We were hoping you would be assigned to julie's wedding when we met you as you prepped for a wedding last December.
Sincerely thank-you.
Kate
