ANGELICA + NICKLAS

BRUDEN FORTELLER: One clear night in December by the steps of Sacre Coeur and the amazing views of Paris at our feet, Nicklas got down on his knee and proposed to me. Being a very romantic city and one of our favourite cities in the world, Paris also came to be the theme of our wedding.

Each year we spend our summer on Öland, a smaller island located southeast of Sweden. So when a colleague of mine suggested Borgholm Castle, a ruin of an old royal castle, we decided to visit it. From the minute we saw it we just knew, we couldn't have our wedding anywhere else. The setting by the ocean, with the raw nature, its light, colours and history, it was the perfect location we had been looking for. With this in mind we wanted all the details to blend in with the already amazing scenery so we chose softer colours such as light grey, champagne and white. Since I am a DIY-person I wanted to make the programmes and decorations myself so we bought various vases in clear glass, used natural leather straps and softer paper with a linen structure for all the invitations, wedding programmes and pennants. We spent hours on decorations, programmes, folding papers, and the Eiffel tower placeholders. We truly believe that it was time well spent and we couldn't be happier with the result. It was all these little preparations that made the wedding so personal.

The night before the wedding we started off with a barbeque for our closest family, best man and bridesmaids. A perfect start before the big day were we all could enjoy a good intimate dinner, celebrate and get to know one and another even more. When we woke up on the wedding day the sun was shining. The wedding ceremony was held in a small church in an old castle by the water in a city called Kalmar, located close to Öland. The dinner at Borgholm Castle was unforgettable with locally produced food, amazing speeches, laughs and tears. The dinner was fantastic but the party was amazing! We had a brilliant DJ who kept everyone on the dance floor, dancing all night through closing the place hours later than planned. The day after the wedding we had a brunch in our parent’s garden on the island. It was so nice to see everyone once again and give everyone a proper good bye and thank you before ending a fantastic weekend.

We had an amazing photographer who really captured the beautiful moments and feelings in every single photo. We absolutely love how the result turned out.

The wedding was pure magic and I am now married to the love of my life!
